Newmarket Venue Launch & Brand Refresh
My Fried Chicken
My Fried Chicken is celebrated for dishing up some of Auckland’s best Korean fried chicken. With extremely popular outposts in Ponsonby, Takapuna and Mission Bay, the eatery has become a favourite for informal but delicious dining affairs with an authentic Korean undertone.
With a new and expansive restaurant set to open in New Market, founder Shaun came to Mark to refresh MFC’s brand. We needed to create a new look and feel to convey the new restaurant’s slightly more refined offering, which boasts a broader menu featuring exciting and nuanced Korean dishes, as well was a delicious curated natural wine menu with funky cocktails to boot.

Our design team took the existing MFC assets which were very street cool, and distilled them down to retain its fun, approachable nature, but showcasing it in a more elegant and contemporary way. Bright pinks and blues were replaced with cooler, darker tones featuring more neutral colours like yellow and black. With a brand overhaul came the need for a new and more functional which came together by our web team featuring a full suite of new content and imagery that was taken by our in-house photographers and food stylists to create an extensive image library to be used on the website, as well as social media and paid advertising platforms.
Once the brand collateral was completed, we needed to launch the new look of My Fried Chicken to market with a focus on the new opening. This launch campaign consisted of both and paid advertising/Meta and organic social media content strategy which was rolled out over a one month period to build brand awareness, generate bookings. A very important part of this launch campaign was media pitching to secure press about the new opening where we secured articles to NZ’s two leading gastronomy news platforms — Denizen and Broadsheet.
